Week 6 NFL, College Football Picks 🏈🏈🏈

Now it’s Friday the 13th? Great. After going 1-3 last week for -$32, I definitely need to do my picks on the day set aside for bad luck.

And, where are my commenters – no picks for two weeks? I’m not looking to suck all alone!

So far, I don’t love or even like any games this week. We’re in the middle of October and I’m seeing spreads of 40+ points in college football. Penn State is playing UMass. Why? They’ve already played Delaware and Northwestern. How many warm-ups did they schedule? Georgia plays Vanderbilt at -31.5, and Michigan has Indiana at -33 (which I might actually take). These numbers are per ESPN’s college football scoreboard on Friday around noon.

I have to dig in and read about these games, but here’s what I’m looking at:

Eagles -7 @ Jets – I like the Birds to win, but it’s their second straight road game and a non-conference game. Questionable on the spread.

Saints -1.5 @ Houston

Cowboys -2 @ Chargers

 

Oregon +3 @ Washington

FSU -18.5 vs. Syracuse

Louisville -7.5 @ Pittsburgh (Gotta be some significant injuries for Louisville, no?)

UNC -3 vs. Miami

 

I’ll also think about Duke -3 vs. NC State, knowing their QB got hurt, and the USC at ND (-3) game.

All numbers per ESPN scoreboards.

Birds Trade for O-lineman; Week-in-Review

The Eagles have traded for left tackle Jason Peters, giving up the 28th selection and a fourth-rounder in the draft plus an undisclosed pick in 2010 according to ESPN.com. This is classic Birds, and doesn’t excite me a little bit. Yes, it’s the prudent move, but it just doesn’t get it done. I’ve already heard this takes the Eagles out of the running for Anquan Boldin, who the Arizona Cardinals have announced is available for trade. The Eagles are like the stodgy parents that never give the kids what they want. No, you can’t have the shiny toy, we’re going to put the money towards college. Problem is, it just doesn’t work in the NFL . . . and the Eagles’ Super Bowl trophies total proves it. This team needs to go get a stud receiver, and, once again, they’re not going to do it. NFL Week 4, College Picks 🏈 Peeking at the Phillies World Series Odds ⚾

A 4-1-1 record for $26.70 with picks last week was a nice bounce back on the blog. Nice, not great, considering the total. But I had to go with what I felt. I just didn’t love any of the games last week. It’s a good example of why gambling on sports is all about the money total. 💰 I guarantee there’s plenty of guys selling picks online who would be crowing about a 4-1-1 record, but it doesn’t mean squat if they didn’t put an amount on each wager. If the one loss is a big bet and the four wins are for minimum amounts, it could be nothing but a losing week. By the way, I have zero intentions of ever selling picks. I don’t understand why anyone would ever buy anyone else’s pick. 🤔 It’s stupid. The point spread makes these games a toss-up. Do you really think some guy yelling into his iPhone camera knows more about a game than the people setting the line? There’s just no reason to buy a pick. My whole thought in putting picks on the blog is to have some fun with readers. I’m a guy
