You Were Warned

I hate to do it, but I’m so tired of hearing Eagles fans whine and there’s certainly nothing new to say about this pathetic team. I was mocked, laughed at, told I was the jinx and the Eagles would win the Super Bowl after I abandoned them, and on and on.           Now, Eagles fans are saying everything I’ve said and they’ve said for years.           You were warned .

@WIPMorningShow you're praising @ike58reese for a rant that includes him feeling sorry for Andy Reid? Are you crazy?

@seanbrace975 @MikeMiss975 you're making the argument for those who stop rooting for the Eagles yet rip those who actually do it

Rob’s Rants on Reid Firing Castillo

Only Andy Reid could make what was quite possibly the dumbest hiring in NFL history look like even more of a debacle when he fires the same guy about a year-and-a-half later.           The fact that Reid still has a job as the head coach of the Eagles after firing Juan Castillo as the defensive coordinator shows what an absolute joke this franchise has become.           Castillo never should have been hired as the defensive coordinator. It was absurd. That’s not opinion. It’s fact. Put the hiring in the form of a question on an I.Q. test – should the offensive line coach be the defensive coordinator? – and 7-year-old children get the answer correct. Yet, somehow the head coach and owner, Jeff Lurie, of the Eagles got it dead wrong.           Lurie is now just as culpable as the head coach in the Castillo situation. Everyone in the media swore up and down the NovaCare Complex that Andy had put his head in the guillotine with the decision to promote Castillo and all

Hump Day Distraction: Dedication to Andy Reid

I couldn’t resist. I’ll have a rant tomorrow on the firing of Juan Castillo, but The Four Tops sum it up pretty well.

Castillo fired. Absolutely a scapegoat situation. Never should have been hired. #Eagles are a joke.

Interesting RT @ProFootballTalk Next up on the Andy Reid chopping block? Mike Vick http://wp.me/p14QSB-5WEX   Gotta love Asante Samuel RT @pick_six22 Sometimes you have to blame yourself. Sixers on Bynum’s Knees: No Worries, So Relax

Worried about Andrew Bynum’s knees? Yeah, well, don’t be. At least that seemed to be the message from Sixers CEO Adam Aron late last night or early this morning on Twitter. (I saw it in the 8 AM hour and Twitter only indicated that the series of tweets were posted 8 hours prior.)           In a series of tweets labeled “BYNUM KNEE UPDATE [I-V]” Aron said , “1. Did not have surgery in Germany, had injections. 2. Will not have surgery next week, routine injection every year 3. While conditioning in Sept, unrelated to German procedure, he got a bone bruise which we transparently announced. 4. If all goes to plan, he’s back Oct 24. But we won’t know how the knee feels for sure until, no surprise, Oct 24. 5. From there, he has to get into game shape. That is everything Sixers know. The rest of the loose talk is guessing.”           He added, “If Twitter did not limit to 140 characters, could do this in one communication not six, but know you want the facts. So, relax every

Familiar Tune Pointless for the Eagles

It’s the same, old song, but with a different feeling since I’ve been gone.           Listening to fans since the Eagles choked up a would-be victory against the Detroit Lions at home is almost laughable.           Here’s some tweets I caught after the game:   @eiontweets @NBCPHISports Reid, Vick need to go NOW. No more excuses.   @jockinJFEECH_ When I get to heaven my first question for God is going to be "Why do you hate Philadelphia so much?"   @HurkaDoesSports Being an Eagles fan is like being kicked in the balls over and over while someone throws your pet into traffic.   @BobbyDigs @975TheFanatic "ok guys we're up by 10 late in the 4th, it's first down... Let's throw a bomb to DeSean."- Andy Reid. #interception   (See their links on my Twitter feed; link in the menu.)             This morning people are ripping Mike Vick and Andy Reid. Play calling, turnovers, and the defensive coordi

#Eagles have their annual absurd loss

Brutal 2-min drill by the #Eagles; game is very winnable; #FolesFever on the rise?

If Nick Foles has anything, the time has come #Eagles

Apparently, I should stop turning off the baseball playoffs early. #Natitude? Lol. Rauuuul - happy for the ex-Phillie.

Rob’s Rants on the Infield Fly Rule Debacle

It’s amazing how fast baseball took a great idea and made it horrible. Last week’s Braves-Nationals Wild Card game didn’t really come down to the ridiculous infield fly rule call on a pop-up to the outfield that cost the Braves a bases loaded with one out situation and a run home, a game they eventually lost. But that’s what it will, and undoubtedly should, be what it’s remembered for. The call was as bad as the one on Monday Night Football that screwed the Green Bay Packers out of a win a few weeks ago, only this one wasn’t made by some scrub off the street (who still thinks he got the touchdown call correct – he didn’t).           The worst part about the call that gives the Braves every right to feel that they got screwed too, even though they left a ton of men on base throughout the game, is the absurd reaction it received. And no, I’m not talking about the Braves fans who littered the field with garbage after the call. Although, if it had happened in Philadelphia w

This is why #StreakfortheCash drives you nuts....

Got the W in-hand with the Cardinals (or even if I didn ’ t have the W), and can ’ t pick the 4 o ’ clock game.

Eagles Run Out of Last-minute Magic Against Steelers

It couldn’t last forever.           The Eagles ran out of last-minute magic in Pittsburgh, and finally lost one of those nail biter games on a game-ending field goal, 16-14. Their first three wins had come by a total of 4 points. The Eagles dropped to 3-2 on the season.           Two more turnovers by Mike Vick caught up with the Eagles this week as the quarterback fumbled on the goal line costing the team a touchdown.           Of course my newly minted rooting interest in the Steelers has me taking some expected, if less than inventive, abuse from Eagles fans. I get that. What I don’t get is the constant lament from the Birds faithful that “if we could just eliminate the turnovers . . .”           Well, yeah, it would be great. But Vick has been in this league a long time. His style of play is what it is – and it leads to turnovers and, usually eventually, injuries.           It’s like when they say, “If Andy Reid would just run the ball . . .”

Glad the #Phillies weren't part of the Wild Card mess. Umpires/refs need to learn it's not about them!

Last night was the worst NFL broadcast I ever saw! What was w/ commercials right in the middle of play on NFL Network?

At least that’s what happened locally. Oh, and the game sucked too, but that’s what Thursday night football is all about.

Tony Romo continues to be God's gift to those of us who despise the Dallas Cowboys #overrated

Eagles sit atop the NFC East at a surprising 3-1; defense seems to be performing very well; offensive talent obvious; if they continuing running the ball they will be tough to beat. Let the hyperbolizing begin!
